









3D hearts & Applique hearts patterns
Learn how to create many cute hearts with my free heart crochet patterns for valentine’s day. Here you will find small 3d puffy heart patterns in two sizes and also small heart applique patterns in two sizes.
To show you how the hearts will look in different kind of yarns, I made them in Sport Weight Cotton yarn and Super Bulky Chenille yarn. But you can uses any yarn that you like to crochet this cute Amigurumi hearts.

Basic Stitches Tutorial:
If you’re new to crocheting, don’t worry! Check out my beginner-friendly basic stitches tutorial, complete with numerous instructional videos. It covers everything you need to know to make your very own adorable Amigurumi stuffed animal.
Materials:
These are the materials that I used. However, feel free to replace them with other materials of your choice. Furthermore, if you wish to crochet a larger or smaller version of these using this free heart amigurumi crochet patterns, you can simply use a thicker or thinner yarn and crochet hook.
Cotton Sport Weight versions:
– Yarn and Colors Must Have Red cotton color: 031
– Yarn and Colors Must Have Pink cotton color: 037
– Synthetic Poly Filling
– Crochet hook size 2.5 mm
Chenille Super Bulky versions:
– Red or Pink Chenille yarn
– Synthetic Poly Filling
– Crochet hook size 5.0 mm
Search for a similar chenille yarn you can buy near you on YARNSUB
Supplies:
– Scissors
– Tapestry needles with blunt point, nr. 16 or 17
– Pins
TIP: Are you using are using Blanket yarn? Then I recommend a 8.0 mm crochet hook.
For Bulky Velvet yarn I recommend a 3.5 mm crochet hook.

Rnd: Round
st: stitch
sc: single crochet
sl st: slip stitch
dec: decrease
inc: increase

Big 3D Heart Crochet Pattern

Small 3D Heart Crochet Pattern
- First make two round humps
- Use red or pink yarn
- Rnd 1: start 6 sc in a magic ring (6)
- Rnd 2: inc 6 times (12)
- Rnd 3-4: sc in all 12 st (12)
- Slst in next st and fasten off on the first hump, leave a long yarn tail. Do not fasten off on the second hump. Continue crocheting on the second hump.
- Rnd 5: sc in next 6 st, continue in the first stitch of the first hump sc in all 12 st of the first hump, continue in the 7th stitch of the second hump sc in next 6 st of the second hump (24)
- There will be a small hole between the 2 humps, you will sew this closed later. For now just continue to crochet until instructed to close it later.
- Rnd 6: sc in all 24 st (24)
- Rnd 7: (sc in next 2 st, dec) repeat 6 times (18)
- Rnd 8: sc in all 18 st (18)
- Now sew the hole in between the 2 humps of the heart closed and weave in the end. Then start stuffing the heart with fiberfill and continue stuffing as you go.
- Rnd 9: (sc in next 1 st, dec) repeat 6 times (12)
- Rnd 10: sc in all 12 st (12)
- Rnd 11: dec 6 times (6)
- Finish the heart by taking the last strand of yarn and sewing it through the front loops of every crochet stitch that you made in the last round. Pull the yarn tight to close the hole. Now stick a needle under the hole and weave in the yarn end.

Big Heart Applique Crochet Pattern:
- Use red or pink yarn
- Rnd 1: start 8 sc in a magic ring, slip stitch into the first sc (8)
- Rnd 2: skip first st, 5 dc in next st, hdc in the next 2 st, hdc + dc + hdc in the next st, hdc in next 2 st, 5 dc in next st, slst in next st (18)
- Invisible fasten off
- Leave a long tail, so you can sew the heart on something.
- Tip: All of the chart symbols are explained in my amigurumi for beginners tutorial.
Small Heart Applique Crochet Pattern:
Use red or pink yarn
- Rnd 1: sc, 3 dc, 2 sc, 1hdc, 2sc, 3 dc (12)
- Invisible fasten off
- Leave a long tail, so you can sew the heart on something
- Tip: The heart is very small, shape it a bit with your fingers.
