Terms & Abbreviations
Chain(s): ch(s): Yarn over, pull through loop on the hook.
Slip Stitch(s): ss(s): Insert hook, yarn over, pull through stitch and loop on hook.
Treble Crochet(s): tr(s): Yarn over, insert into stitch, yarn over, pull up a loop, you will have three loops on the hook. Yarn over, pull through two loops, yarn over, pull through remaining two loops.

Free Crochet Pattern: Half Solid Horizontal Hexagon
You are viewing this pattern in UK terms.
Chain 4 and ss to first ch to form a circle.
Row 1: 4 ch (counts as tr and 1 ch), into ring work [2 tr, 1 ch] three times, tr. Turn. (8 tr, 4 ch-sps.)
Row 2: 4 ch, tr in ch sp, * tr in next 2 sts, [tr, 1 ch, tr] in ch sp, rep from * twice more. Turn. (14 tr, 4 ch-sps.)
Row 3: 4 ch, tr in ch sp, *tr in each st to ch sp, [tr, 1 ch, tr] in ch sp, rep from *twice more. Turn. (20 tr, 4 ch-sps.)
Row 4: rep Row 3. (26 tr, 4 ch-sps.)
Rep Row 3 until desired size.
Fasten off and sew in ends.
